Permits are required to legally discharge fireworks in Bixby

June 24, 2016 – Commercial fireworks for residential or consumer use, or Class 1.4G fireworks, may only be legally discharged within the city limits of Bixby by home owners with a fireworks permit. The permits will allow legal discharge of fireworks on July 2nd, 3rd & 4th only, between the hours of 3:00 p.m.–11:00 pm only. The fine for discharging fireworks within the Bixby city limits without a permit is $350.00 per occurrence.

Permits are available now at City Hall through July 1st, and may be purchased for $20.00 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please note: City Hall, located at 116 W. Needles, will be closed on Monday, July 4th in observance of the holiday.
After regular hours end July 1st, permits can only be purchased at the Bixby Police Department on the evening of July 1st through Monday, July 4th.

City of Bixby First Responders request the public’s help in ensuring all roadways are clear in the event we need to respond to any emergencies. Please keep permits visible and accessible for police and fire officials. We try to ensure everyone has a permit and has been briefed on the safety requirements so that everyone may enjoy a great Fourth of July.
