Chief of Police Andrew “Andy” Choate
Chief of Police Choate started his law enforcement career April 1994 with the State of Oklahoma before coming to the City of Bixby in 1998. Chief Choate promoted through the ranks during his career with Bixby Police Department becoming a Police Corporal in 2002 and then promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2004. Chief Choate was assigned to the Detective Division as the Sergeant over the Detective Division in 2004 where he actively served until his promotion to Assistant Chief in August of 2016. Chief Choate was appointed the Acting Chief of Police in June of 2021 after the retirement of Chief Ike Shirley.
